ME By Melia contacted THAT Agency with the need to grow their brand to the public. The demographic of the ME by Melia user needed to be addressed and targeted. Walking trough the discovery process, it was determined that a social media campaign would create a dramatic branding effect to the target audience while keeping the customer interested for future vacations and business trips.
Utilizing multiple resources such as MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, Tagged, Orkrut, YouTube, Flickr, and several blogs, THAT Agency began with the creation of individual profiles for the general mangers at each hotel location. In addition, multiple profiles were created for the individual hotel properties. THAT Agency combined a banner strategy to boost the campaign's image across multiple platforms, and targeted the profile of users that met each hotel's demographic profile; providing specials, events and unique offers to the new customer base.
Within three months of the campaign's launch, the ME network has accrued over 6,000 users. In addition, they received over 700 inquires about the property on a monthly basis. The social media campaign has generated a branding effect that reaches thousands of individuals in under three months.
